Live Evidence

This page is split into 2 parts. The upcoming section should give you information and fliers for gigs and other F.o.U.R. occurrences. We'll add anything that we think will be of interest here, although how up to date it'll be is anyones guess. Reminder to self: must be professional. Right. The past events wil hopefully evolve into a sort of record of gigs played (with our comments/reviews) along with other rubbish that we accumulate. Any photographs from gigs should be appearing in the photos section of the site once we've found the least incriminating ones. Enjoy!

Upcoming Events

Right, here's the plan as far as FoUR live is concerned:

February 6th, Camden Barfly

Bit of a short notice show here. Playing on a bill with Sone (Thanks Rob!), Enter Shikari and Red Nettle. It all seems a bit experimental/progressive, so our special brand of retarded old-school may go down really badly. If so, we'll have had a laugh at least. Well, as long as Keith keeps out of the way, that is.

The plan...? No idea, however normal Sunday Barfly rules apply. Doors at 6:30ish, first band on around 7:30, cost £5, but I'm trying to get a flier together.

Why are we playing a show like this? Well, it's a gig innit....

Past Events

January 30th, 2005 Vengefest @ Tufnell Park Dome

It was kind of fun. More to come

November 19th, Bournemouth

I've added this in. Not really our finest moment....

Halloween, Alienistic Studios

How we actually managed to play this show without falling over is anyone's guess.

"Blastporn"* Tour Dates:

August 19th, Matrix Club, Grimsby

August 20th, Railwaymen's Club, Barrow-in-Furness

August 21st, Dr Drakes, Aberdeen

August 23rd, Purple Turtle, Camden

All above dates are with Nebukadnezza, and all except London with Evidence of Trauma. This is the first FoUR tour, so if we're still on speaking terms by the end of them it'll be something. We'll be posting the fliers on completion.

* - This was named by EoT & the Nebs. Don't ask us what it means as even they don't know.

August 12th, RAMWA @ Cargo

Rock and wrestling show with Orange Goblin and Tidalmind. Details will be posted here. We're all playing 4 song sets, with wrestling bouts between the sets. Is also being recorded for TV, But I don't know what the plan here is! Tickets are £10 in advance from Stargreen, £12otd.

July 9th, Sanctum Club, with PDHM

Been kind of rubbish updating this page, but there's been the links on the news page. Ooops.

Anyway, Click here for the Section 8 website. Print it out, and voila! You have a flyer!

It was most certainly an entertaining evening.

June 3rd 2004, Camden Purple Turtle, supporting My War

This is a gig put together by Nick Inner Rage. We appear to be headlining now that My War have pulled out. We have the welcome return of Lozek, and there will also be music from 1366 and Orakai, along with DJs playing metal. If we're lucky, there'll also be pole dancing, give aways, and other random things going on.

May 31st 2004, Camden Purple Turtle, MMM Fest

Funny one, this. We've been invited to play at the MMM Fest on bank holiday Monday. It should be quite funny, especially that we're under the impression that this is a nu-metal all dayer. Time to laugh like a James Bond villain, methinks. Buwahahahahahaaaaaa!

The details are on the flyer. First band 3pm, FoUR on just after 4, and tickets are £7/£6 (all day) or £4/£3 (afternoon or evening show only). If you want to see what the phrase 'drive-by metal' is, then it may be right up your alley. Otherwise, we'd much rather you check out the show below....

May 2 2004, Camden Barfly

Don't even go there. This was a last minute shoe-in which I (Hairy Chris) could really have done without. Whatever, I suppose that a gig's a gig, though we weren't really all into it. Twat of the night award went to King Size Blues - if you want to know why ask the Donkey. That just about summed everything up!

April 26 2004, Croydon Cartoon

The less said the better. Still looking for someone to try out the hire car key insertion game with. It's metal, Jim, but not as we know it...

April 4 2004, Cargo in Shoreditch

Right... Big one this. To celebrate the 04/04/04 we're putting a gig on (or rather Tam seems to be doing most of the organizing!) at Cargo aka the nicest venue in London. The bill also includes Inner Rage, HFM (they've just done a week's feature on TotalRock Radio) and Head Up. Tell your friends. Tell your mum. This is going to be metal & it has to be a success!
"Nice Flyer is here"

OK, well the night was pretty cool. Maybe not as may people as would have been nice, but still a nice showing of 150 or so. Well... Fun bands, wrong visuals, and a good time was had by all!

January 20 2004, The More I See + Project Abner + Inner Rage, Hope & Anchor N1.

Nick Inner Rage has arranged a completely insane show in Islington. Problem is we do not know exactly who will be playing, but the night is booked. We'll confirm the plan later, but it'll be a truely metal event whatever happens.

These 2 gigs were really good fun. The Peterborough gig (big ups to Gizz & TMIS) was highly entertaining - we had a great time and looking at a video of the gig we confused a lot of people. The return leg, Tuesday, was a properly mental night. Good sets by all - Project Abner were replaced due to injury by the very metal Nebukadnezza - a crazy pit and a lot (100+ in a way small venue) of happy campers. Some photos are now up on the relevant section. Apologies to TMIS for the misappropriation of their kick pedal, and nice one to the Vendetta boys for coming down from Peterborough for the chaos.

January 16 2004, The More I See, Peterborough Fiddle's Elbow.

This gig is now confirmed. Gizz form TMIS has been in touch, and we've now got to work out a) where the hell Peterborough actually is and b) how we can get there. We have no details at all right now. It'll be our first non-London (Romford doesn't count) show so should be a laugh.
It was. We got lost & drove around Peterborough looking for the venue, arsed around, then played in front of a pretty full venue of confused nu-metal/ska punk kiddies. Our van was so rubbish it wouldn't go faster then 50mph so we got home at 4 in the morning after annoying the staff of 24 hour service stations. Definately entertaining!

January 4 2004, CryForSilence, Guess where... Camden Barfly

This was silly. We agreed to play at 24 hours notice, and we hadn't played together (in some cases played at all!) since the 21/12 gig. We had a bit of a minger. BUT: a) we frightened a bunch of emo-kiddies and b) Bob Glanville from Rock Sound gave us a really nice write up & took some photos (to come, we have them somewhere) so the night didn't end up that bad. ;-)

Alienistic Xmas Minifest

December 21 2003, Camden Barfly: Confirmed! We're 2nd from the top of the bill supposedly! Umm, other bands are Leevil headlining, with Abraham Man, Among the Missing and The Insurmountables. There's someone else playing too. Cost will be around £6, doors at 6:30 - 7:00pm.

Get your Tickets in advance here. Woo for Stargreen.

Apparently we were quite good. The atmosphere was amazing (enough respect to the Nebs with their medieval shit going on, and to the guy in the Barrymore mask!) and the only problems were costume failure, rubbish on stage sound, and only 1/2 hour after the set to get drunk. Never mind, though, we aren't complaining! ;-)

Hope and Anchor Islington

Tuesday 7th October. Hope & Anchor, 207 Upper St N1. Cost £5/£4 with flier (to come). Doors 8pm. The running order is The More I see (Gizz Butt's new band), us, Syrus, and finally Inner Rage headlining. It's a tiny venue which we pretty much packed lat time we played there, so it should be fun again.

Yup, it was. We metalled it up 80's style with much lycra & claw in evidence. The photos are way dodgy.

Defenestration + Freebase support

Sunday 21st September. Camden Barfly, Chalk Farm Road. Cost £5-£6ish. Dunno what time doors open.

OK, this one's a bit vague. We seem to have got this support slot, along with Swetbox after the entertainment that happened at the Minifest 4 on Sunday 7th. The upshot is that we have the 2nd support slot (I haven't had any of this confirmed, but a little old man in a pointy hat told me so, so it must be correct) and are telling people to come down for about 7pm.

That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

It was fun. we played a pretty good show, with big ups to Mario for getting the set together in less then 2 weeks. We played in front of about a half full venue. Defenestration played in front of 8 people. Hmmm.

KBY + Alienistic Minifest 4

Sunday 7th September. Camden Barfly at the Monarch, Chalk Farm Road. Cost £6, Doors 6:00pm. A 5 band bill, with Capricorns headlining, followed by Tidalmind, us, Swetbox and Happyeater. We're on stage around 8pm, or a bit later. We should be better then we were at the last Monarch show!

Um, review, well... We'll get round to this at some point. It was, all told, a good night with a lot of confusion going on. We didn't get sound check, but in the end it didn't matter! We had a pretty good one.
