You've done a what? Posted by Hairy Chris on Thu, 4 Dec 2003 1:28pm
Nikira, the prince amongst men, has created a 2nd mix of the demo. There'll be some more fiddling and then we can think about mastering, but as it's all way above my head don't ask me!
Live news: It looks like we'll be playing the Alientistic Xmas Minifest on 21 December @ Camden Barfly. Confirmation to come. We may also be playing a date with The More I See in Peterborough on 9 Jan. Confirmation to come.
Only negative thing is the 20 Jan show with Inner Rage, My War and Send More Paramedics. I may be in New York at the time with work, so... well... hummmm. Again, confirmation to come.
*UPDATE* Added some photos, Ox-style, and it also looks like the 20/1/04 gig is OK. :-D

We've been busy Posted by Hairy Chris on Mon, 17 Nov 2003 11:18am
First off, this: . Corrupt facist scumbag. OK... I hate & ignore politics usually, but don't want this walking arse breathing my air.
Saturday 17/11 saw Wes finish the vocals for the demo. That means that we may actually have something ready for the new year. Woo!
Lastly, the site has been fairly dramatically updated. I have revised gigs, biog, music and contact, and have uploaded about 50 photos to the pics section. Warren from Blood Island Raiders will be pleased. Yay!

Argh. Bloody Chaos. Posted by Hairy Chris on Fri, 31 Oct 2003 5:17pm
Joy. After recording 2 minutes of feedback on Tuesday my effects unit PSU blew up. Managed to do Sky Turns Black before giving up completely. Richie saved the day, though...! Back at Nikira's again on Saturday.
Other business... We're trying to get stuff together fo the Lozek European jaunt - this includes 40 odd copies of our old (iffy) demo, a proper biog and a niiiiiice picture. All by the 10th, so oops! Wes is also looking at the ep cover & badges, etc, so roll on that.
Finally, I KNOW!!! I haven't updated the site. I've been a bit busy but will try to spend a bit of time doing some work this Sunday. I'll rectify the gigs section, try to put the music section in some semblance of order, and if I get round to it post some photos.
Hey ho. Have fun!

Hopefully the first of many.... Posted by Hairy Chris on Fri, 17 Oct 2003 2:30pm
"The Claw is out in force for pounding hardcore setup F.O.U.R., who are building an ever-growing following for their nail-gun delivery and sense of humour."
A couple of lines in Rocksound is certainly better then nothing! ;-)
There's a pretty accurate description of clawage too... Hmmm, what has Mr French started?
EDIT: I'm planning to be round at Nikira's on 28/10 for my guitar tracks, and The Chard should be arranging his. We may actually have something done by about the end of the year. Don't ask me how late this is....

Oh. My. God. Posted by Hairy Chris on Thu, 9 Oct 2003 3:02pm
Have just seen the set of photos from my camera from our gig at the Hope & Anchor on Tuesday 7th. Wes is a gayer Rob Halford, you can't see Tams trousers (unfortunately), Richie's doing the hair thing, Mario's.... Mario, and I am having a total Motley Crue moment. I'll post these soon. Honest.
Thanks to the few people who came down. That was very funny. Cheers too to Thiago (or Nick, dunno who it was) for getting us on the bill. I think that we confused a lot of people that evening. The people we didn't, Inner Rage certainly did with their riffs! Wooooo, comedy!

A bit late, this one Posted by Hairy Chris on Thu, 25 Sep 2003 1:59pm
But thanks to everyone who supported us on Sunday at the Defenestration/Freebase gig. After the now standard w*nk about during the soundcheck it all went swimmingly.... Mario is now well & truely back! The man is a god... ;-D
If no-one had turned up to support Swetbox & ourselves it would have been a very empty show so big ups to the lot of you... and mentions to Gary + Alienistic, the Swetbox guys & girl (kitshare from hell... well, mainly your kit! that was cool...), and Mambo for creating a properly wrong shirt for Richie.
ps The Rev Al is reviewing the gig for Terrorizer, so with luck he'll be nice to us. To that end, the Blood Island Raiders rule! Hehehe....

Another upcoming gig... Posted by Hairy Chris on Thu, 11 Sep 2003 1:06pm
It looks like we have a pretty good gig coming up at shortish notice. I have no idea whether it's confirmed or not, but this is how it goes to my knowledge:
Bill: Defenestration, Freebase, Us, Swetbox (I think)
Date: Sunday 21st September
Where: Camden Barfly (again!!), Chalk Farm Rd
Costs a fiver or so. I hope that this comes off as it'll be the highest profile thing we've done to date. Woo!

We've been busy monkeys for once Posted by Hairy Chris on Mon, 8 Sep 2003 11:41am
The last weekend was pretty harsh. Friday & Saturday night we recorded the bass & drum tracks for the demo/ep type thing. Big ups to Nikira for that, and to Steve & Tam for doing all the work! Guitars'll happen in a couple of weeks, but more when we work out a plan.
Last night was the Minifest 4 at the Camden Barfly. It was either going to be great or a nightmare (I won't go into it here!!) but we definately had a good one once we got on stage. Thanks to everyone who came down... hope you enjoyed it!

Where has this mont gone part 2 Posted by Hairy Chris on Mon, 1 Sep 2003 6:22pm
Or rather, where has the end of last month gone? Righty-ho, I've made a marginal attempt to update the gigs section. I don't have a flyer for Sunday to scan yet, but there should be a link up on Weds 3/9. Actually, it's the Capricorns headlining which should be interesting.
Hopefully we'll have a new tune to play if we can pull it off, but otherwise it'll be similar to last time. But played better. I hope. Oh, yeah, look out for the Ox and some additional comedy. I'm not telling what it is, but it may all go horribly wrong....
What is also interesting is that we're pretty much good to go wrt recording on the 5th & 6th. I am really not looking forwards to that one, but it should leave us in good shape for the gig on Sunday!
Anyway, enough babbling, back to work, innit?

Where has this month gone...? Posted by Hairy Chris on Tue, 19 Aug 2003 3:44pm
Ho-kay, how's tricks?
We're busyish in FoURland so here's a bit of an update:
Personnel: Once we're over recording it looks like Mario will be back drumming with us. It's been a loooong time since he drummed properly, so we'll have to work on it. Should be good!
New Tunes: Wrote one a couple of weeks back. A 2:20 weird beat blast. It helps if you can count to 13. Our last 'almost finished' effort is being reworked.
Recording: We're doing the Drums & Bass (er) thing this weekend with Nikira at Alienistic. 2 all night sessions. Urgh!! We is practising a bit, innit.
Gigs: 7th September, Alienistic Minifest 4 at the Barfly, Camden. Again.
7th October, Hope & Anchor Islington. Again.
I'll post details when I get round to it.
I think that's about all for now. Have fun people....

More Chaos and a lot of Metal Posted by Hairy Chris on Tue, 22 Jul 2003 1:11pm
Sunday was interesting. After more then one, er, moment, the gig went pretty well. We had timing issues (ahem), Richie broke strings, my gear was somewhat tempramental, and I couldn't hear anything on stage... It could have been a nightmare but I think that it went down OK! I know that the Murphy's certainly did afterwards. I was properly ill on Monday.
You rule: Gary/Alienistic + Keith/KBY, Leevil + Inner Rage + Blood Island Raiders + Lozek + Redhed (everyone played wicked sets, woo!), The Metal Ox, and everyone who checked the night out. It was a good'un. ;-)
Right, Richie's off on his hols, so we're going to slack off a bit before the rescheduled recording session. We need to complete the new song, and generally get stuff together. I'll post again if something interesting happens...
OOPS, almost forgot. We have a limited run of shirts and vests available. Email us via the contacts page or on our Forum if you're interested. Cost will be about a fiver inc packaging. I'll stick some pics up if I find them.

Argh.... annoyance & more annoyance Posted by Hairy Chris on Mon, 14 Jul 2003 6:09pm
Not happy. Our recording session was cancelled due to a lack of organization on the financial and equipment sides. This has now been postponed until August, as both Steve and Richie are away immediately after the gig. In the long run it may be for the best, but that doesn't stop it from being really annoying.
As for the gig.... The Monarch, Chalk Farm Road, Camden. July 20th. Doors 6pm, get there early as we're first on. Cost is about 6 quid. Email us if you want any more info!

004 Licensed to Timmy Posted by Hairy Chris on Thu, 3 Jul 2003 12:53pm
Hello hello hello... Not much on the anything front to report. Non-FoUR activities are amusing - Mastodon gig, random violence at Shelley's birthday, etc, etc, but things in the FoUR camp have been ANNOYINGLY slow. Grrr.
The dates for our first recording sessions are 11-12 & 12-13 July - over night at Alienistic. I have no idea what the plan is, but drums & bass should be down by the end. Guitars may be a problem due to the usual performance of the Timmy twins (Richie and myself, although he made a *way* better job of the RKS session). We need to work up until then on hitting it right, which is a mare if you usually fake it! ;-)
The only good thing is the ever looming 20th July (no fliers yet, ta Gary) which is much more our natural habitat!

Head like a cabbage Posted by Hairy Chris on Mon, 23 Jun 2003 1:46pm
Morning all! I still don't feel well after the weekend. Saturday being the Alienistic party, at which I was sanity-impaired enough to have quite a good time ( ;-) ) and Sunday was Prong at the Underworld. I'm very disappointed at being the only FoUR-er to show.... Tommy Victor was obviously loving it, and my god, THE RIFFS!!!
Enough of this drivel. It looks like we are going to try to start recording a few tracks in a couple of weeks time, with Steve on the skins (ahem). Mario should be dropping by to jam so we'll all see how we go. Looking forwards to the Monarch gig next month, and the T-shirts are looking good. More on all that later. I'm off to die somewhere.
