More gig stuff
Posted by Hairy Chris on Wed, 28 Apr 2004 11:46am

OK, we appear to have 2 more gigs lined up....

1) Sunday 2nd May, Camden Barfly. Inner Rage headline, along with Path of Betrayal + one other band. Doors 7ish, we're on maybe 9 or 9:15....

2) Friday 7th May, Needles wine bar 5-6 Clipstone St W1W (off Gt Portland St), with IR & PoB again. Bugge knows what's happening there.

I don't have any poundage information. I really should update the gigs page, but can't at the mo.... :-S

Last minute info

Right, it looks like we've got a gig at the Cartoon in Croydon with Path of Betrayal and others on Monday 26th. The PoB boys have a flyer for it here so come along and say hello.

We're also working on new material, although this may take a back seat for a week until we've played the show!

Thursday 3rd June is another date, with a show at the Purple Turtle in Camden. More to come on this one.

Muchos Gracias

Well... Sunday was so much fun I couldn't move at all on Monday! That's because I'm crap, but that's another story. The venue was nice, and security were really funny!

Big thanks to: Andy, Beka, Zoe, Martin & everyone else who helped out (otherwise it wouldn't have happened), Inner Rage, HFM, Head Up, and finally all who turned up to give support. None of this would have happened without Tam, so he's definitely the man.

Remember: The Ox knows where you live so be good....

Tomorrow, innit?

Get your 'orrible cloven butts down to Cargo for a dose of the old you-know-what.

If you don't we'll find out where you live & set the Donkey on you. Literally. Buwahahahahaha!

Hokay, the flyers for 4/4/4 should be ready sometime this week so watch out. Don't know what other organization is involved, but I'm pretty sure that Tam does. Well, he should...

We may also be playing 2 newer tunes that we've not done live before - 1 that's been around for a while but haven't all learned, and 1 completely new one. They're both quite insane, so that's all good.

Got to go. Have fun!

IMPORTANT GIG NEWS!
Posted by Hairy Chris on Mon, 1 Mar 2004 8:01pm

Right, clear your diaries on Sunday 04/04/04... It had to be done, but Tam, the prince of blaggers has booked Cargo (nr Old Street) for a night of metal. For those of you who don't know, Cargo is the nicest venue in London. Hmmm.

Making a noise will be Inner Rage, HFM, Heads Up and our bad selves. More details to follow, but this will either rule, or be an unmitigated disaster! ;-)

EDIT: Have updated gigs & photos section. Photos of Jan H&A gig available.

EDIT 2: My War pulled out. Bugger.

EDIT 3: FLYER NOW AVAILABLE ON GIGS PAGE

Rock Sound like us:
Posted by Hairy Chris on Fri, 20 Feb 2004 1:15pm

'First up it's FoUR, who spew out a mass of molten metalcore riffs with a nod to the past and a wink to the future. This is music to make you look over your shoulder and realise that you are being slowly stalked by your doom. Better keep moving then. Singer Wez is down in the crowd for most of the show, battling his own encroaching fate with a voice that sounds like two Muppets having a vicious domestic.'

Nice one, although that gig (Cry For Silence @ Barfly, 4/1/2004) wasn't the best...! :-P Thankyou Mr Glanville!

Better late then never

OK... Still have problems uploading stuff to the site, so apologies fo the out-of-datedness of the site :-(

However, there are some other things going on. First: gigs... in the pipeline are dates with Paths of Betrayal and maybe a support with Stampin' Ground, and also a 4/4/(200)4 special, of which more to come!

Secondly the mixing of the demo is virtually there. Big ups to Andy Lozek & Nikira - 2 tracks down and one to go. Then we'll try to get the damn thing mastered, so watch this space!

Randomness
Posted by Hairy Chris on Mon, 26 Jan 2004 5:02pm

Pain, this is, but I've found that I can't access the 444metal site via FTP to make changes to the content. Arse. We've got a bunch of photos from the H&A gig to go up, and the content to swap around a bit, but I'll try to sort something out...

Anyway, a new song is kind of underway (with the usual amount of arguing about it) and there are talks about a few potential gigs underway, but more here when we work out what's happening.

PS get well soon Seamus (Blood Island Raiders)....

Big ups!
Posted by Hairy Chris on Wed, 21 Jan 2004 7:11pm

Hope & Anchor last night.... 100 people rammed through the door for a good night's worth of metal. Insane evening, that was. Should have some pictures soon - cheers to Andy Lozek for that.

First off, big thanks to Nick and the guys for organizing the night, and also to everyone who helped out. The bands were cool - the Nebs were truly metal, The More I See were their usual slick & melodic selves, and Inner Rage brought the real brutality in no short order.

One thing... to everyone who turned up... what was all that about? I've not seen a pit like that in a venue like this for years! The atmosphere was awesome - hope to see you again soon, but this time without the bass problems & in a bigger venue. You ruled! ;-)

I'm meltiiiiiing!
Posted by Hairy Chris on Mon, 19 Jan 2004 5:58pm

Oi Oi! Almost at the end of a mental few days. First off, the Peterborough gig courtesy of The More I See (with Vendetta supporting) was hugely entertaining. Loads of thanks to Gizz for sorting us out on that one - hopefully we weren't too embarassing! ;-)

Tomorrow (Tues 20th) is the return leg with Inner Rage, TMIS... and Nebukadnezza (replacing Project Abner due to injury), so come on down and give it the Barry, innit! If you don't have your Ox badge ask one of us when you're there.

Other news... Our demo has now shrunk to 3 tracks, with the final mix in the offing when certain digits get removed from certain orifices. Enough said, so watch this space as the man says.

Aargh. Chaos!
Posted by Hairy Chris on Wed, 7 Jan 2004 2:46pm

Right, where do I start? Hmm. First off, interesting gig on Sunday 4th - 24 hours notice to play with Cry For Silence after a 2 week break. We'll argue about this, but it didn't go as badly as it could have done.

Part 2 - had an offer to play with PDHM tonight, another 24 hour notice job. We said yes initially, but had to pull due to unforseen equipment failure, work problems and other issues that appeared last night. Apologies to the PDHM boys & all concerned. :-(

Anyway, next up is the 3 gigs we play mid month. Jan 16th in Peterborough with The More I See, Jan 19th Sheffield Corporation with Inner Rage, Leevil + others and Jan 20th with Inner Rage, The More I See, & Project Abner.

See you soon!

No.. I don't know what I'm on about, either...
Posted by Hairy Chris on Mon, 29 Dec 2003 2:06pm

Hokay... Hope you all had a good Xmas. Roll on 2004.

Have a look at our gigs section. We have added an additional show - Mon 19 Jan up in Sheffield with Inner Rage (almost confirmed!). Looks like we've got an interesting few days there!

All good, all good....

Jingle (Leevil's) Bells
Posted by Hairy Chris on Mon, 22 Dec 2003 1:24pm

Hi all. First off, thanks to everyone who came down and supported us on Sunday. If you didn't get an Ox badge just ask! Big ups also to Leevil, Abraham Man, Jade & Among the Missing for the sets, and Gary, Nikira & the Alienistic crew for the arrangements.

Anyway, that was a pretty entertaining way to finish the year (authors note: I'm a bit annoyed that my costume broke when I was putting it on leaving Richie looking like an idiot!) so have a quiet Xmas & a me(n)tal New Year.

Make 2004 the year of the Ox...

OK... not much to say, except to confirm a couple of shows. Firstly, come say hello on Sunday 21st and the Camden Barfly. It'll be fun. Secondly, we've just confirmed a show with The More I See in Peterborough (or somewhere) on Friday 16th Jan. This was moved from the 9th, but when we have more detail's we'll update the gigs page.

Oh, and we've still not finished the demo. Don't ask. But we do have some badges on the way which is nice. Won't have them for the 21st but should have before Christmas.

That's it.
